30 days of thanks: Day 22
Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum Rummage Sale
One of the many reasons I am thankful to live here year round.
Don't these two look happy?
They are Pete and Hilary from Bartlett's Farm.
She is an amazing cook.
This is our Sheriff, Jim Perelman.
He was a write-in candidate a couple of years ago.
We don't have a jail on Nantucket so mainly
he serves papers and transports prisoners to court
and Barnstable County Jail.
He used to run Jimmy's, a take-out place,
on Steamboat Wharf, next to our fish market.
Hence, his hot dog stand at the Rummage Sale.
See the dapper gentleman on the left?
He's a mechanic at Don Allen Ford.
The 'Sconset Casino, filled to bursting.
I found a cobalt blue plant tray, which I've tucked
under my blood orange tree in the dining room.
Yes, it will fit.
And if it doesn't, someone with a truck
will stop and offer to take it to your house for you.
Expecting only thanks.
And I am thankful.
